What is Ragging?

Ragging is any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or a junior student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student.

Anti-Ragging Committee

KDS College has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee to prevent ragging and to take appropriate action against those who indulge in or abet ragging. The committee consists of faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives.

Reporting Ragging Incidents

Students can report ragging incidents to any of the following:

Punishment for Ragging

Ragging is a punishable offense. The punishment may include:

  • Suspension from attending classes
  • Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination
  • Withholding results
  • Suspension/expulsion from the hostel
  • Rustication from the institution
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution
  • Fine up to Rs. 25,000/-
  • Collective punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment

Zero Tolerance Policy

"Ragging is a criminal offense. KDS College has zero tolerance for ragging. Help us make our campus ragging-free."

Anti-Ragging Undertaking

All students and their parents/guardians are required to submit an anti-ragging undertaking at the time of admission. The undertaking can be submitted online at:
