The Scouts and Guides movement at KDS College aims to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens, and as members of their local, national, and international communities.

About Scouts and Guides

The Scouts and Guides movement is a voluntary non-political educational movement for young people. It is open to all without distinction of gender, origin, race, or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles, and method conceived by the founder Lord Baden Powell.

The main objectives of the Scouts and Guides movement are:

  • To develop character, good citizenship, and physical fitness
  • To train young people to become responsible citizens
  • To develop leadership qualities
  • To promote self-reliance and resourcefulness
  • To serve others and the community
  • To promote international brotherhood and understanding

Scouts and Guides at KDS College

The Scouts and Guides unit at KDS College was established in 2012 with the aim of developing character, citizenship, and physical fitness among students. The unit is affiliated with the Bharat Scouts and Guides, the national Scouting and Guiding organization of India.

The Scouts and Guides unit at KDS College has been actively involved in various activities such as:

  • Camping and hiking
  • Community service
  • First aid training
  • Disaster management training
  • Environmental conservation
  • Cultural activities

The unit has produced several Rajya Puraskar (Governor's Award) and Rashtrapati Puraskar (President's Award) winners.

Join Scouts and Guides

Students interested in joining the Scouts and Guides unit at KDS College can contact the Scout Master/Guide Captain or the Student Affairs Office. The selection is based on the student's interest in scouting activities and willingness to participate in Scouts and Guides activities.
